Riverside Airport is known as the general aviation airport of Kiwiland. Many people come to this aerodrome for flying lessons provided by the Riverside Aviation Club. As the airport is located within the Kiwiland Highlands, the airport has a steep glide slop on both runways, ideal for flying lessons. During strong crosswinds, the airport is closed as a precaution in case any aircraft veers off its course and into mountains, as previously documented.
